Volunteer Receptionist
Are you friendly, organised, and looking to make a meaningful difference in your local community? The Deborah Ubee Trust (TDUT) is seeking a Volunteer Receptionist to join our welcoming reception team.
As the first point of contact for our charity, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for everyone who visits us.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Volunteer Receptionists are the welcoming face of TDUT. You will greet visitors, answer telephone enquiries, assist with basic administrative tasks, and help ensure the smooth running of our reception and waiting areas. At times, you will be supporting individuals who may be vulnerable, so a calm, empathic, and respectful approach is essential.

AVAILABILITY
We are specifically looking for daytime cover on Thursdays, as well as some afternoon availability on other weekdays. If you can offer regular support during these times, we would particularly love to hear from you.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Warm, approachable, and professional manner
Ability to work independently and show initiative
Strong attention to detail, especially when handling data
Comfortable using computers for data entry and record keeping
Understanding of confidentiality and sensitivity
Reliable, adaptable, and a positive team member
Commitment to inclusivity, respect, and equal opportunities
Full training will be provided to support you in the role.

IMPORTANT ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION
To maintain appropriate boundaries and ensure the wellbeing of everyone involved, current service users and individuals who have accessed TDUT services within the past five years are not eligible to apply for this volunteer role. We appreciate your understanding.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Volunteers will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, initiated by the Trust
Two positive references will be required
