Who we support
Adults
All adults coming to DUT start with a friendly, confidential assessment to help us understand what kind of support feels right for you. You’ll then be matched with a therapist, and offered weekly sessions for up to six months. We check in regularly to make sure the support is still working for you, and adjust things if needed.
We also offer group sessions and wellbeing workshops to help community members with things like stress, confidence and low mood. Our aim is to create a welcoming, safe space where you can talk, reflect and start to feel more like yourself.
Children and young people
All children and young people referred to DUT start with a gentle one-to-one assessment so we can understand how best to support them. We then create a tailored plan that may include talking therapy, play, or movement-based approaches, depending on their needs. Our dedicated play therapy room offers a calm and creative space where children can express themselves and work through difficult feelings, including anxiety, trauma, and loss.
We know how important it is for children to feel supported at school as well as at home. That’s why we work closely with local schools to identify children who may be struggling, and to help staff feel more confident supporting their mental health.
